About the Artist

 Jesse Horton

Diversity in life is what makes Jesse thrive. He has lived in over five countries, swum with the most massive creatures on the planet, and tries to push his personal limits every day in new ways. The experiences gained over the years are what he puts into his creation. Sculpture, photography, film, and illustration are a few of the ways to acheive this. Trying to share what he feels are important issues and beautiful perspectives are his motivation for creation.

110 lb Beaver

We seem to be attracted to the big, the massive, the overly stuffed and the fuzzy. Giant Panda bears illustrate this well i think. I decided to find out just how BIG beavers get. I wanted to sculpt a big one, but I thought it would have much more story value if you could say, "Beavers really get that big." My subsequent research provided me with a 110lb beaver from Wisconsin, USA. Shortly thereafter I began work on my beaver......... This is the first rough draft of my current untitled work on a giant beaver. It is leaning heavily against an aspen branch that has been recently gnawed off, and has a look of satisfaction after a long days work. The piece may become the base for a ski rack, mail box or another coat rack.....
